FANUC 31i-B Plus changed the spindle air valve to energy-saving control function introduction

In order to protect the spindle and prevent the intrusion of foreign matter such as coolant and dust, the spindle is equipped with an air purge air valve.

Normally, the spindle air valve is always open, but if the energy-saving control is enabled, it will automatically open/close.

Notes

1. When the energy-saving control is effective, the spindle air valve will be closed after about 5 minutes when it is not in automatic operation and the coolant (cutting coolant, machine cleaning coolant, center penetration coolant) is in the off state. At this time, the spindle air valve will be temporarily opened (about 5 seconds) every about 1 minute.

2. If the following operations are performed when the spindle air valve is closed, the spindle air valve will open.

a. Start automatic operation.

b. Coolant spray (coolant for cutting, machine cleaning coolant, center through coolant)

The energy saving control of the spindle air valve can be switched to effective/ineffective in the [Energy Saving Setting] window.

Setting steps:

(1) From the main screen, press [Production Management] > [Energy Saving].


(2) Press the [Energy Saving Setting] soft key. The [Energy Saving Setting] window is displayed.


(3) Align the cursor with the [Energy Saving Control] check box in [Spindle Air Valve], and press the [ON] or [OFF] soft key.
