How to change tools in servo turret

The tool turret is divided into two types: hydraulic and servo. The former is traditionally powered by hydraulic oil for tool change, and the latter is based on the former, changing the power of tool change from hydraulic to servo motor.

Normally when changing tools in a servo turret, before the tool turret rotates to the next specific tool number, in addition to the shaft connector groups inside the tool turret needing to be separated from each other, the power unit moving shaft of the tool turret also needs to be separated from the tool holder transmission shaft. The dial can be moved to the next specific tool number position.

After the cutter head rotates to the next specific tool number position, the shaft connector group inside the tool holder will engage with each other and position, and the power unit moving shaft of the tool holder will engage with the transmission shaft of the tool holder. In this way, the tool holder can use the internal hydraulic cylinder to securely engage and position the shaft connector group to accept the cutting force from the tool holder.

The milling axis will be driven by a servo motor or a spindle motor. The power is transmitted to the milling axis of the turret through the transmission mechanism inside the turret, and then through the connection between the above-mentioned milling axis and the transmission interface of the tool holder, the motor The power is transmitted to the tool holder and then to the tool for milling processing. This is the tool changing process of the power tool turret and the power transmission process of the milling axis.

Most of the current servo turrets use three-piece shaft connectors. The three-piece structure has good waterproof and chip resistance. When changing tools, the cutterhead only needs to rotate without axial push-out and pull-back movements. , which is conducive to shortening the tool changing time and the organizational planning of the servo power turret.
